EVALUATE AND TAKE DETAILED NOTES.
Begin documenting the accident scene, date, time, and location (if on a highway, record the nearest exit or mile marker) Take photos of all vehicle damage.
Take pictures of all the damage to the vehicle from different angles showing the damage caused to both cars (it may be a good idea to take pictures of the license plate of the other car (only if it is safe to do so), as well as the surroundings of the accident, and other scenes of the road that may have contributed to the accident.
Talk to witnesses if there were any; write down the names and contact information.
